Linear

Install personal API key and team ID

Linear connects with a personal API key and a team ID. It behaves like the Jira connection: a Create Linear issue button on each issue, and an optional auto-create toggle for new issues.

1Get the key and team ID

Linear, Settings, API, create a personal API key. The team ID is in the team's settings; the team key (for example ENG) is not the same thing.

2Connect

Integrations, Linear: paste the key and team ID. Connecting runs a viewer and team query to check both. Owners and admins only.

3Create tickets

Create Linear issue on an issue page calls issueCreate with a Markdown description: the Blipit link, the culprit and the top frames. Auto-create opens one for every new issue in scope, never for regressions or security alerts, and one ticket per issue is enforced.

Good to know

  • The key is stored encrypted and never shown again; the dashboard shows the team name.
  • Rotating the workspace signing secret on the Blipit side makes stored tracker credentials unreadable, so reconnect after that; Blipit staff will tell you if it happens.
