1Make an API token

In Atlassian account settings, Security, create an API token. Note the account email that owns it.

2Connect

Integrations, Jira: enter the site (https://<name>.atlassian.net), the account email, the token, the project key and the issue type. Connecting calls GET /rest/api/3/myself and checks the project; Check repeats that test later.

3Create tickets

On an issue page, Create Jira issue makes a ticket whose summary is the issue title and whose description holds the Blipit link, the culprit and the top 12 stack frames. The page then shows the ticket link. Turn on Auto-create on the connection to open a ticket for every new issue (not regressions or security alerts).

Good to know

• One ticket per issue and provider: pressing the button after auto-create has run links to the same ticket.
• The token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, decrypted only on the server when calling Jira, and never sent to the browser; the dashboard shows just the site and project key.
• Only owners and admins connect trackers. Calls time out after 8 seconds and only reach *.atlassian.net.
